Judd Jordan of Scotch Mountain Gang Solo

Judd Jordan is the lead vocalist for the Scotch Mountain Gang.
Scotch Mountain Gang is a southern rock band, born and raised in Texas. The heavy, rock inspired guitar riffs, creative lyrics that illustrate stories about elaborate happenings, and the rhythmic drum sounds that beat in your chest comprise the sound and energy of SMG.
“Scotch Mountain is a place where family and friends have gathered together for the past 50 years,” says Judd Jordan. “It’s been a part of my family history over all these generations.” There is a barb-wired fence running across this remote location, and strewn across are empty scotch whiskey bottles tied along the fence line, hence the birth of the name, Scotch Mountain.
The sound is unique due to each member’s different upbringing and musical taste. Each has different ideas brought to the table. They continue to create new challenges to hone in their sound. “We don’t really write music for a specific genre,” says Ryan Ricketts. “We write whatever comes to us and whatever emotion we feel at that specific moment in time.”
