Born Lake Jackson, Texas.

Budding Guitarist, Age 11, Mother taught him basic chords.

Age 12, won talent competition Brazoria County Fair - House of the Rising Sun.

Age 14, once again, won talent competition, Brazoria County Fair.

Joined the Quintanilla's band. Lead singer was named "SELENA". Spent 7 years touring with the group.

Age 21, left the music scene, spent 5 years laying steel & laying the groundwork for his future as a musician/singer/songwriter.

1992, moved to central Texas, formed his own band "Against the Grain"

1995, played Governor Bush's birthday party

1997, became lead guitarist - background vocalist for Rick Trevino, touring U.S.

1998, played, then Governor, Bush's inauguration.

1999, While Trevino worked on Los Super 7, Rodney did commercial jingles, session playing & played guitar on the Aztex Short Stories album. He also filled in for Cesar Rojas with Los Lobos, played with Freddy Fender & Little Jo y La Familia.

Recent, As Trevino's touring slowed down, played sessions, or toured with, Chad Austin, Chalee Tennison, Gary P. Nunn, Mark David Manders, & most recently, Houston Marchman, Clay Blaker, & Kevin Fowler.
